The Algorithm and the app design is more insidious. The older stuff just got annoying and stale after a short while. My brief flirtation with the TikTok app was horrifying simply in how hard it was to get the damned app to turn off. Every direction you swipe and nearly every button you push just takes you to a new video, at least until you get really stubborn about it.

Sadly the “ate my balls” webring seems to be no longer in service so I can’t find out :(

As far as I can tell Shanghaiist took over the webring.org domain that formerly hosted it, and then took a big shit on it
