Yes, being scheduled whenever there's a gap stinks because it makes it really hard to get into a good rhythm. And I agree that working part-time is a privilege, and I'm fortunate to live in a part of the world where you can live somewhat comfortably with a net salary of ~€1,400 a month, though there are no retirement savings in that. If I had to provide for a family or wanted to live in something bigger than a one-room flat, though, it'd be tough to make ends meet without a full-time job.
I used to work full-time for a while, but it took a lot out of me and made me suicidal after half a year. Maybe that was also because my employer sucked, but I'm scared of that happening again. I'd love to see a different system one day, a system that is not exploitative. Anyway, thank you for your kind words. I doubt it'll work out, but maybe it will. Who knows.
