Poetic is a good way to describe it. I really have to learn to not directly spit out words how I would in my native language or English when I speak German. So many misinterpretations!

You really start appreciating good translations when you notice stuff like that. You just can not directly translate stuff between most languages when it comes to literature like that. I've noticed similar problems in many works as well.
