Lol. Guess that's why they keep in touch, invite me to hang out, have heart to heart conversations with me, and give me big hugs after they have moved out. They definitely just secretly hate me.

Don't take it so personally. You just got done telling me you're comfortable. Why should you care what I think? I'm some guy on the internet. If you don't need to justify yourself, don't justify yourself.
