Lincoln was truly an exemplary man. He came from humble beginnings, he lived a life of hardship, and he remained a humble man despite of it. As a leader, he led with grace, mercy, and a kindness that's rare to see in history. He always fought for justice, equality, liberty, and the welfare of the people even if it was unpopular and controversial. He never strayed from what he believed was right, and he did everything in his power to preserve the country and turn it into the ideal version of itself.

The more you look into Lincoln's life and career, the more you get to grasp the mammoth of a legacy that he left behind. He genuinely deserves all the praise and recognition that he gets. It is sad to think of how the party that he led, the country that he preserved, and the ideals that he fought for are all being eroded away before our very eyes by a man who is the polar opposite of Lincoln.
