Turn your doom scrolling into doom walking by switching to podcasts.
*Cries in AuDHD with audio processing issues*
I physically cannot pay attention to a podcast and retain any of the information that is being said.
Do you retain much information from doom scrolling?
Quite a bit, unfortunately, as much of my feed is tailored to my interests, such as wildlife conservation and climate studies.
I don't retain the meme shit and the partisan politics stuff. I'm done with electoralist floundering while this flawed system declines into fascism as expected. I checked out of all of that. At this point it's all a performance and has been for years.
That makes sense you retain info from your interests better.
I'm mostly the same on media in politics. I keep it to one day a week just to be up to date.
Sorry friend. Zoning out and walking is probably even better for you.
RSS feeds are the way to go to keep in touch with events, but only when you want to and in a not addictive manner. Also, my philosophy is that some news is really really important only if somebody from my inner circle personally tells me something about it. Otherwise is just noise from media
I do use RSS feeds as well. Another good recommendation, but they're easily too much as well. I can't rely on my inner circle telling me about important things. Unfortunately we often disagree on those kinds of things.
