I think you vastly overestimate the political literacy of the average American. Most of them don't know any of that, their decisions are based purely on vibes and curated sound bites. Some of them certainly are evil, but I recommend a vigilant application of Hanlon's Razor when analyzing the general population.
if someone stupidity leads to damages, they are liable for those damages.
same here, people are suffering, and disappeared. there are real damages being done to innocent people.

It's not really 48% tho. Only 30% voted for him. These types of polls are essentially worthless because the sample is voluntary and in all likelihood skewed because only those hardcore people will even do polls. My generation doesn't even answer a phone call unless we know who it is or are expecting one.
There's a lot of them, they're gullible and we need their votes. We can use them as our pawn to gain votes. Gotta learn how to use the enemy. Right away Straight to anger and hate without seeing the opportunity to sway the pawns.
