Why do people make such a big deal about dating outside of the furry fandom? (pawb.social)

I know some people dont like furries but this never really made sense.

To me it just feels like people are taking the furry community way too seriously.

People act like dating outside of the fandom is like dating interracially back during segergation. Furries where never slaves or discriminated against .

You guys are just people who like animals and wear costumes (if you can afford it).

I know some people online and real life have been mean but its really not that bad.

Also with alot of people complaining dating is terriable now you dont really have much a choice to be too pickly lol.

Also also I feel some people are a bit too picky. I know alot of people want to choose a partner thats like them (or that their attracted to) but everyone isnt going to be exactly like you.

Thats ok relationships aren't about liking the same things. It may help start some but not all.

I feel most people outside of the community IN REAL LIFE dont really care as long as your a nice person and dont make furry their whole life.

Making it a taboo for a furry to date a non-furry is silly, and thankfully that hasn't been my experience, and I'm sorry if you've experienced that.

As for the reason why it's common to find dates within the fandom? We have a culture that's very open, often intimate, and extremely weird to many outsiders. Also Tinder fucking sucks and Grindr isn't much better, the fandom is a better way to meet people than those apps.
