Because of restrictions where I live, I had to get an m1 platform and decided to go with the M1A. Figured I’d shop the look and get a 1911A1, but happened upon the Rock Island Armory GI 1911 for less than 300 bucks.
Will I get a 9 mm pistol? Probably. But I learned to stop worrying and love my inner Fudd. You should too.
heads up, the 1911a1 isn't drop safe. be very careful about not having rounds in the chamber whenever possible.
There are mods you can do to make it dropsafe though.
