ooh i have this on my steam wishlist but ive never used epic is there a way to get it into steam afterwards? i use linux and steam deck so im used to launching things from there

Heroic Launcher on Linux lets you install Epic games and add them to Steam to launch. You don't get any Steam features, you can just launch the game from Steam. This works both in desktop and steam deck.
