In case anyone else is wondering: you can't just download PureOS and install it on any Android phone. You can buy a phone with PureOS, but it's not possible to install it on a phone you already have.

So, I'm still on the search for a good Android alternative that will work with my old Motorola g(7).

Its okay because Google is illegally killing my battery life again. Might as well get a new phone.

Holy bonkers pricing! No thanks. I'm digging my garage boxes for better specs for free.

there's a download pureos button, could we not use that as a bootable image for devices ?

https://docs.puri.sm/Software/PureOS/Overview/Compatibility.html#android-windows-phones

For those who don't want to click through:PureOS is not compatible with Android or Windows smartphones. There are several reasons for this:

  1. These devices cannot work without proprietary parts that PureOS does not ship;

  2. These devices will not work with the latest mainline kernel (system’s core) found in PureOS; they need older versions with proprietary parts;

  3. Even if you have a device that does not fall under the previous issues, there is still a decent amount of work needed to make it possible to install and start on those devices

Appears to also be the name of their amd64 iso desktop image. The only downloads I could find were for PC.
