Both Salah and van Dijk remain cornerstones of the current Liverpool team, which is likely going to win the league. Apparently there has been progress to extend their contracts beyond this season.

Would have been brutal I they lost all 3 players in one season, glad to see VVD and Salah likely staying.

I understand that Slot wanted to take a season to assess the squad and the players earning the highest wages who aren't getting younger. From a risk management perspective it really doesn't look good when you allow the core of your team to all be on the final year of their contract at the same time.
