Denazification is the process which comes to mind as the closest analog. That process took years, and arguably was not necessarily effective.
But the name of the game is deradicalization. It isn't enough to try and teach these people e.g. critical thinking skills -- they have been radicalized by years of propaganda exposure. Many of them no longer understand the difference between facts and opinions -- there is no basis for instruction.
And deniazification was only possible after a world war that ended with unconditional surrender by the nazis. Trying to educate fascists who are currently entrenched in the belief that they are "winning" is never going to be a viable strategy.
