That has nothing to do with what I said. This article is just outright false. And I never once said that the world is ending, or anything more then the markets are down. The adjustment was do to major layoffs, so this will effect job numbers later in the month, it wasn't due to them finding out a way to deal with tariffs.
The article said the market was rising and you yourself said there was a bump. Article was accurate.
And the world didn’t end, like Lemmy thought (hoped?!) it would.
"Look at it twitch, that means it's still alive" isn't near the victory we were told this would be. It's been an unmitigated disaster, by design.

The article said it reversed all the losses of the last week, it never did. And again you seem to be pushing this doomer outlook into this conversation, which is super odd. And if you dont like that false thing in the title alone, the second part is also not backed up by his own statements in just the last hour that he will do nothing to ease the tariffs.
If you must push your propaganda into this, the stock market is well past due for a massive correction and has been as both the last bubbles were never allowed to really reset to proper levels. But doing it this way will only gain the USA lower ratings which will take years to be adjusted. And it will make their trade partners less likely to give accounts that are not paid in advance, no credit when the seas are a rocking.

The idea that everyone is jumping back in now just shows they didnt listen to a thing. He paused any more, the current ones are still in effect. Also dont be an alarmist about these things, one day means nothing like you were preaching before. Also this didnt correct the market in any way.
I've never been an alarmist, that was my point. The gloom and doom of Lemmy is because of the alarmists.
I know the market is volatile. That's why I buy dips and sell when it goes back up. I'm absolutely amazed at how many people aren't doing it just because they don't like Trump.

Meh, fair point. But come one now, you know that Lemmy is like a school of fish. Massive amounts of posters turn one way with the others. And yeah, there are the outliers that go against it, but you still see and feel the big wave of the majority.
I think as we grow and others come on, it will even out thought. Because the group-think here has been getting toxic lately.
You are really pushing for a consistency that doesn't seem to be there. You look like you've met resistance in nearly everything you've done on Lemmy so maybe you've seen some consistency that I haven't.
Hey if you don't see that the vast majority of posters on Lemmy skew one direction, then I can't really say anything that is gonna make you change your mind.
And in the end, it's not really that important that you know it anyway.
BUT if you are bored, look up "conservative" and "!conservative" in the lemmy search function, making sure "all" is chosen. You'll see the barrage of comments and nazi/fascism accusations.
In fact, be sure to look up the glee that Lemmy had in taking over [email protected] and [email protected]. Admins took those communites over from conservatives to turn them into meme communites that make fun of conservatives. And they celebrated it.
That's why THIS community exists. Because those conservative communities were taken over and didn't allow pro-conservative posts.
Again, in the scheme of things, it's not that important. It's just Lemmy. Not even close to the real world. I was just making a note of it for conversation. But Lemmy doesn't change really change the opinions of anyone, so it's all harmless shit-talking in the end.
It's really like sports team hate. It really doesn't matter. Not to say that poltics and voting don't matter; I'm just saying that shit-talking on Lemmy doesn't matter.
Which is why Lemmy was so shook when Trump one. They legit thought that Lemmy was a snapshot of all of the US. And it's not even close. It's a very closed society with a big echo-chamber.
You definitely sound like you have a vendetta against Lemmy. Even if it was 1 big think tank who's opinions are entirely against yours, other online and offline communities were surprised Trump won too.
Only because of this longish conversation. Reality is that Lemmy is a place for shit-talking and shit-posting. I don't take any of it seriously.
Not my community. Not the people I know. When you surround yourself by people who think exactly like you, sometimes you lose sight of just how many different opinions there are out there.
Which happens regardless of your ideology.
For the record, I'm not in MAGA land or anything. A city with over a million people. Blue state. Mix of people and diversity. Most of the people I knew were doubtful of the dem party and their choices lately. Obviously the MAGA people had Trump in their eyes and saw nothing else, but plenty of liberal friends of mine had a feeling of how it was gonna go.
I remember on Lemmy, people were saying they were throwing up because they were crying so much. Some said they couldn't focus because of shock. The over-dramatics of Lemmy on the day after the elections was fucking hilarious.
Now those same people are asking others when the world's gonna end. Should they drop out of college because the world's over, etc.
Fucking Lemmy is insane. But I still like it here for the laughs. You all whack tho..lol I don't care how many downvotes I get, or bans, or the hate. It's all just a fucking online shit-talk forum. You all take shit way too seriously!
