Shangri-la Frontier perfectly captures where the fun in video games lies.

It also has a weird obsession with energy drinks. To a point where you could think it's a placement, but apparently it isn't

After seeing several YouTubers and a couple of podcasts promote energy drinks without actually being sponsored, I feel that many people have an energy drink problem. Joking about it is just one way to cope with that while staying relevant to their audience.

Sounds very plausible.

What's most shocking to me is the extent. I drink about a single, sugar free energy drink a day, but they act like drinking a couple in a single gaming session is normal. It's crazy man

I feel like it's a mix of that combined with a similar situation to the cola wars. Everyone has their favorite and wants to talk about it with others while also saying the other brands are bad.
