The ending of game of thrones wasnt good but it doesn't cause the rest of the series to suddenly suck

I kinda feel the last season of Game of Thrones was so transcendentally bad it tainted my memories of everything good before it. I still can't bring myself to rewatch the first 5 good seasons :<

my game of thrones hot take is that it jumped the shark in season 3, and season 4 onward is irredeemable

Season 4 has the Purple Wedding, Oberyn Martell & Tyrion's trial. Those were all fantastic storylines. Also season 3 ends with the Red Wedding, which is the peak of the series, so the shark was far from jumped.

Lol, that's a more popular take. I think 5 & 6 are still worth it and it's only 7 & 8 where things go truly off the rail.
