So yes, it does mean “in your person form” as opposed to virtual form, like over the phone etc.
Lots of other meanings as well that don’t involve physical manifestations. See personally as in “I took it personally”. And personal as in “It’s a personal matter.”
Language is strange sometimes as it’s very old and has gone through many iterations.
