Being free on Xbox and PC thru game pass really makes these numbers less valuable...

Would people be playing it if it sucked?

Nope, never said it sucked, never even said which way that mattered...

But if you read the article:

Concurrent player numbers on Steam have been okay but not great, peaking out at a little over 6,000 concurrents during Atomfall's first weekend of release. The 1.5 million player count is no doubt driven largely by Atomfall's presence on Game Pass, where everyone can give it a spin for no more cost than what they're paying for their subscription anyway.

6k on steam...

The single largest platform for PC games.

Meaning most are on Game pass.

We can't say everyone who tried it for free would have bought it. Which makes these numbers less valuable.

Does it make sense now?

Honestly, game pass on PC is such a good deal it's basically free

But yeah, I should have said "free" instead of free.

Agreed on the deal. But still not free. I have it for now what? 5 years? I don't see it stopping any time soon.
