I'll start us out with a bit of an official business - our planned VN patch list.

I posted this before in the mod changes thread but I'll drop this here as well for better visibility and because I made some formatting changes to help with entry readability. Here's the current version:

Patch list:

Higurashi When They Cry HouName: 07th-Mod
Official release: link
Compatible versions:

Feature List:

  • Full voiceover
  • Lipsync support (when using PS3 sprites)
  • Sprites and backgrounds in 16:9, 1080p and 1440p combined assets
    • Sprite Options: PS3, MangaGamer, or Original Japanese
    • Graphics Options: PS3 or Original Japanese.
  • Exclusive console content (such as bad endings).
  • Upgraded user interface
  • ADV (textbox at bottom) and NVL (text covering the whole screen) support
  • Opening videos from the console release
  • Option to bring the BGM/SE closer to the Pre-April Update/Original JP Release
  • Various Third-Party Language Patches (see below for chapter support)

Additional comment: Highly recommended as the official translation is quite butchered compared to the original text.

I also tried a version with entries enveloped in quote formatting, to help in case of multiple patches for one game but I'm not sure if it's any better. I'll leave it here for comparison:

I like the quotes. But I don't hate it the other way either.

Want to play https://arimia.itch.io/clown-girl-teaches-how-to-make-vns. Does it count as edutainment if it is about creating something of the very medium you are consuming?
