Historical Artifacts

Just a community for everyone to share artifacts, reconstructions, or replicas for the historically-inclined to admire!

Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.

Generally speaking, ruins should go to [email protected]

Illustrations of the past should go to [email protected]

Photos of the past should go to [email protected]

Interesting.

At this point in history, since they've decided to stop making American pennies, could/should it be considered 'historical' to post pictures of 2025 American pennies?

Yes they did make some, and I have one. Although it's not ancient history yet, I do believe it'll be a historical artifact soon enough, since they're not stamping them anymore...

Fair enough. I do have a 1928 penny that is barely even tarnished and looks like it just recently came off the mint press.

Guess I'll see you in a few years...

There might be a more general coin collector community somewhere on the Fediverse?
