Article says it occurred in 2023, so possibly same old case? This was nonetheless the first I've heard of it, so new to me.

But yes, what I'm highlighting here is high suspicion this is another case of wealth being above the law.

If its going to cost the state too much to fight the case they'll walk away and convict a bunch of poor people with cheap lawyers.

They don't need them to be actually guilty, they just need somebody to make guilty is the MO
