Coning should be one of our national sports, what an achievement.

Auckland Council is investigating how a road cone was placed on top of a tall tree in the CBD.

As someone who was reckless teenager once, I'm gonna put my money on a reckless teenager.

The main question I have, do you think they carried it up, or lowered a rope and pulled it up?

Or perhaps a drone was involved.

The tree looks pretty easy to climb and sturdy until quite near the top, so I was originally thinking carrying it up (perhaps tied to a rope being pulled up behind them - pulling it up from the ground seems a bit much given the height of the tree).

But drones weren't a thing in my day. Maybe it was a drone, I didn't think of that. But cones are a lot heavier than they look, would a drone be able to carry a 5kg cone to that height?

I suspect if you could do it with a drone we would probably see a lot more of them.
