What's the best way to remove American flag patches? (lemmy.ml)

I have a high quality hoodie and fitted hat I like but they have an American patch on them. I'd like to remove them without damaging either if possible.

Glued or stitched on? Seam ripper for the latter, otherwise you might have to just iron the thing off and put on a new patch to cover the glue spot.
