It all sounds good, but why is it going to take them so long to implement? I'm not even sure I'll still be playing this game next autumn.

Maybe it's going to be added when the next power creep hits? I don't follow the TCG that closely but I know they have GX and mega evolution pokemon. Maybe the trading system is being changed to adjust for the added cost of those?

I think GX, EX (uppercase), V, V-star, and maybe more are just the old equivalents of the current ex (lowercase) - a higher power tier for cards. I'm not sure about megas, whether those will replace ex or if they're going to be a separate category. Guess we won't know what will be implemented in Pocket for a while.

Right, I'm just guessing at why they're waiting so long. It only really makes sense to me if they're planning on other major changes/updates around the same time. Why else would you admit there's a pain point in the game and not fix it sooner? It doesn't seem like that major of an update on their end but who knows. Maybe it's just a tactic to get people to buy more packs in the meantime instead of doing expensive trades.

If it was something that was going away or getting more expensive/harder I could understand giving a longer grace period for players to get it. This one is a head scratcher for me.
