Marked NSFW, because Naomi Wu is...not shy about her chosen aesthetic.

This is an old one, but as I consider adding devices like Yubikeys into my security mix, I realized that hardware encryption won't help me if a State actor simply seizes the key. In the US at least, authorities can force you to operate a fingerprint reader or utilize a hardware key after you've been arrested, and that was legal before things turned into a technofacist's wet dream.

The threat landscape is evolving almost daily, and it's no longer a given that speech is protected by default. If you do any kind of activism, be prepared.

Unfortunately, Naomi Wu no longer creates content after she was temporarily disappeared by the CCP and ordered to stay quiet or else, but techniques like these will become increasingly necessary as governments around the world careen towards fascist mafia states.

I don't know if she still gets money from her channel, but if you want to support her, she made a local tech-buying guide for tourists. I don't have a link on hand, but I'll edit this if somebody finds it.

That was an interesting concept. I hope Wu is able to get out of that country :(

She actually can. She's staying for her partner, who can't leave.

:( hopefully her partner can leave soon, too, and they can go to a liberated country where they (I'm assuming both female, based on the video intro) can love and live in peace and happiness.

...not many of those countries left, I'm afraid.
