It took China approx. 20 years to get Solar panels economically viable. That's why i don't like if we have to re-invent them ourselves: We need renewable energy now, and we need it at a reasonable price.

However i do appreciate import tariffs on EVs. Because it took china only maybe 5 years to develop them (AFAIK 2019-2024) so we can develop them too, rather quickly.
