I would probably cut the sprinting for now, just focus on running slowly and how your stride is. Slightly overweight shouldn't cause massive issues by itself. How is your *"athletic history"? Have you always been sedentary or have you done sports earlier? Age also factors in to this, e.g. its a bigger issue if you're 24 than 54.
In high school I wasn't extremely active or anything, but I was able to run the weekly mile with no problems. Fast forward only a couple of years until now, I'm experiencing these pains. I feel embarrassed having these issues at such a young age.
