That goes for pretty much every single military in the world unfortunately. It's not really worth singling them out when there are Russians running around with black sun symbols and SS-Skulls at the same time.
Besides, Ukraine has done a huge amount of work to clear up these elements and pretty much none of the founding members of Azov remain in active service. The entire brigade has been almost fully replaced after Mariupol.
The old issue with Azov had a lot to do with them receiving weapons and training from U.S. military prior to the full russian invasion in 2022. The backtracking and legitmization of the battalion in response is typically what people are most critical of. Seems silly how those optics used to be a concern.
I think a lot of people have no idea where the Azov group came from before the war.
Azov brigade literally uses the wolfsangel and black sun in their insignias.
