This couple and really anyone who learned about evolution by watching Idiocracy: if intelligent parents are needed to make intelligent babies, from where did intelligence first arise?

[–] SynopsisTantilize@lemm.ee 50 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Two fishes fucked and made a deformed fish that liked air more than water. And now I have to "clean the garage" and "not eat all the cheese its". Fucking ass hole parent fish.

Dicks... All of them

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 2 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Do fish fuck? I thought the one laid the eggs and the other spooged on them.

[–] tpyo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Besides sharks like the other commenter said, there's a type of fish called "livebearers" who do indeed fuck and internally inseminate

They give birth to fully formed babies vs laying eggs and fertilizing them externally. A fascinating animal that falls in the category is the Amazon molly which gives birth to clones of itself

Sharks fuck. It's really unpleasant. They are also fish.

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I always forget and think they're mammals.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You might have them confused with Whale Sharks, which are Whales and therefore mammals.

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 1 points 1 year ago

I'll be honest with you, I think it's more likely I'm confusing them with whales as a whole.

[–] nucleo7@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Whale sharks are a species of shark, and therefore fish.

[–] SynopsisTantilize@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Yea. These fish fuck.

Heavy natural selection pressures. Don't worry, we'll see those again in a couple decades.

Broke: Higher calorie consumption, low stress environments, abundant free time, institutionalized and publicly funded education systems.

Woke: Generations of cracking open one another's skulls to feast on the gooey goodness inside until only the largest and most succulent heads remain.

Not intelligent enough for this question.

If human parents are needed to make human babies, from where did humans first arise?
