2024 was a milestone for Video Game Preservation.

With a plethora of amazing projects accomplished by us and our outstanding partners, we continue the fight to ensure your gaming legacy is safeguarded and will live forever.

Why? Because video games made us who we are today. They shaped our personal lives and had a lasting impact on the world we live in. Preserving them and their stories is of the utmost importance.

Please enjoy the recap of all the efforts made in 2024, created in collaboration with our partners—and, of course, with your support.

Come on, it's just marketing. They're preserved until they're not. Anybody up for some unreal tournament, warcraft 2, or colin mcrae rally? Or there's a remaster of a £3 dos game for £30 and the original is pulled Dark Forces . GoG is the last stand against DRM and I buy all my games from them, but they need to go easy on the kool aid.

It's preserved if you manually backup the DRM free games you've bought yourself. If you don't do that, they can't be played again if they're de-listed and made unavailable to download. DRM-Free is beneficial for preservation, but you still need to backup the games yourself if you want them to actually be preserved.
