Elon Musk is just the latest billionaire to exert tremendous influence over U.S. politics. When he says he supports Neo-Nazis, take him at his word.

The ones I heard repeated in highschool by my teachers were that the family killed the baby and then tried to cover it up by hiring someone relatively unintelligent as a patsy.

The Wikipedia article contains some of the more mainstream inconsistencies and possible conspiracies
