If the Taiwanese people wish to be independent then they are. If they don't then they aren't. Simple as.

Literally nothing you do, say, or feel will change that, because it doesn't concern you at all. No offense but you're kinda just some powerless angry loser

Polling in Taiwan shows that your statement is false. Simple as that.

The overwhelming majority of people in Taiwan want to maintain the status quo. The desire for Taiwanese independence has experienced a significant drop over the past three years, with only 25.3% of people who want to “move toward independence” or seeking “independence as soon as possible” - down from nearly one-third - 32.4% - in 2020.

What's more, that's despite US interference in Taiwan politics and media which is very well documented. US has poured countless millions into shaping the opinions of the people in Taiwan through orgs like NED, it directly grooms US politicians such as Tsai Ing-Wen. This is what's known as cultural hegemony.

Lol the graph clearly shows lack in interest in unification, even "unification as soon as possible" dropped. Isn't that enough sign that Taiwanese don't want unification as of now?

If status quo means they are independent which they very much appear to me, then isn't that overwhelming majority support for letting it be the way it is, i.e. not ruled by PRC? If it is ruled by it, then why did PRC bring their vessels to threaten its own people just a month ago?

Status quo is that Taiwan is a province of China that's not independent. That's literally why the chart shows the support for becoming independent is practically non existent. If Taiwan was independent then there wouldn't be a question of it becoming independent. Hope that helps clear up basic logic for you.

Meanwhile, the real question is why the US still has presence in another country that's half way across the world from it.

The graph you have posted is metionning some sort of independence opinion survey about an integral part of China's authority.

There is no Elections Study Center in the People's Republic. There is no such thing as the R.O.C. It is the fascists that predate the People's Republic. You are just spewing out links of no value and fantasy graphs just to undermine Chinese unity.
