I'm getting fucking sick of this orange fuck lying and causing the United States to fall behind. END THE TARIFFS. If you don't vote you're a part of the problem.

What's the thing people say

Trump isn't the problem. He's a symptom.

The US lost it's position.

He's a symptom of people not voting. VOTE.

[–] Bluescluestoothpaste@sh.itjust.works 4 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

half the people voted for him man, sure vote more nothing wrong with that but if people vote for trump that doesn't make anything better either

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago

The problem is that many people have learned that their life isn't meaningfully made better no matter which side they vote for, so yes, a lot of people do not vote because there is effectively no point for them to miss a day of work. (Especially now.)

Half of the voters voted for him. More than half of the people sat on their thumbs and didn't bother voting.

And you think all those thumb sitters wouldn't vote for trump? At the very least they've shown they dont care and don't have a problem with trump.

This math seems kinda... worrisome...

He's a symptom of the fact that people's lives are not made meaningfully better no matter which party is in power nationally.

Our only power is local.

[–] late_pessimistic@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

They don't get meaningfully better indeed, but one of the two parties can and does make things meaningfully worse

Unfortunately if you're a wage worker, that is patently false.

The only difference is presentation. Red fascist, blue fascist, nicer speeches mean nothing when you're living out of your car.
