What, like you can't think of any to suggest? I'm not playing this game with you. Maybe we stop idolizing rockstar personalities and start being politically competent for ourselves. Crazy idea I know.
I wasn't the one to claim there are better mouthpieces for leftist ideology that "deserve" a chance more than Hasan.
The only reason Piker is getting the attention he is right now is because he's been consistent in his views and he's been consistent about them for a long fucking time, way before Oct 7th. People are listening and that is scaring establishment Dems and Republicans alike. He's earned the trust of his viewers and they are working for these candidates - they're calling, they're door knocking, they're getting out there and getting the messaging out.
Who else is doing that in your opinion?
How many times do I have to say this? I do not care how much good he does or how consistent his views are. He's a toxic shitbag worming his way into political power and y'all are out here going to bat for him. You put it up to me to suggest someone else and I could name at least one, but that's missing the point. There shouldn't have to be a someone else for you to reject Hasan. He should be rejected on his own (de)merits and not on the basis of his replaceability. If we can't get shit done without making the same mistakes the bad guys keep making, we're just going to wind up laying the foundation for the next empire in need of overthrowing.
And that, as they say, is that. Have a nice day.
It's your point that you made. How is it missing the point?
I'm not going to reject Hasan without some serious evidence of wrong-doing. Simply disliking how he speaks isn't enough to convince me and it shouldn't be enough to convince anyone else to not listen to one of the strongest voices on the left that is actually helping push people to vote and be active in their political scene.
