Did we build the world wide web or did we just shitpost for the lulz for decades without realizing we gave all the benefits of our shitposting to Mark Zuckerberg?
We gave it all to spez by abandoning all the little crappy forums because they were kinda crappy.
A lot of forum admins just got old. It's more like the IT nerd boomers and gen-x built the internet. They were middle age when we were kids. Most of us whippersnappers were being babysat by them.
Good luck convincing any normie on the internet today that it was actually a boomer who built the world wide web. All they see is tech illiterate old people who only made the world worse. And for some reason gen-x doesn't exist to them.
Hey now, the real benefits of shitposting were the bans we got along the way.
