Open boxes, cut straps/twine, carve up fruit for a snack, alter the shape of a chopstick (make it pointy, oblong, whatever is needed; chopsticks are another tool), removing those annoying plastic bits that hold tags on clothes, shave those lint bits off clothing, use the spine of the knife to open a bottle, letter opener, open plastic packages (those form-fitted nightmares), pry out staples, stripping and cutting wire, do you fish?, and of course you can use a pocket knife to shotgun a beer (if you're in a frat).

It's weird you never have a use for a knife. Maybe think about ways that using a pocket knife can make life easier for you.

90% of the time when I want to do one of these things there's a better tool nearby. A box cutter, a bottle opener etc. Maybe it's the fact that I spend 90% of my time in an office :d

Or it could be I grew up with a pocket knife, and to me, that is the "better tool". You do you.
