Yeah, children are an annoying menace to everyone. They cry loudly in public, have no care for social norms, take a lot of resources, are entitled, and grow up to take your job.
You aren't entitled to children, and if you make them then they are your problem. We should make having children illegal!
This was written as satire, but looking back...maybe yeah.
Your choice to have a child does not mean I have to give up my comfort, or my anything really. That's your obligation you chose, not me.
So a little context. As far as a very shallow search revealed, the mother of the child didn't ask the young woman to change seats and she didn't record the video. The flight attendant asked and a bystander filmed it and posted it online. If those facts are true the mother didn't do anything wrong, she was trying to calm her child without making it another person's problem. Someone else got involved in a situation that didn't involve them, recorded it and put it online.
Because the mother choose to have the child? See the problem?

That's not how it works. You put up with children because society put up with YOU as a child.
Like sure you don't have to give up your seat, you could, it might be nice, but you don't by any means have to. I'm just tired of /c/childfree bullshit like complaining there are children playing outside and it's intruding on their desire for silence.

Literally no one is saying any of that. The post is about not giving up a thing you literally paid for just to placate a stranger's crying baby (apparently not even at the behest of said stranger, but another unrelated stranger). It is absurd, and your leap of logic to "we all hate to see children playing outside" is just as absurd.
Yes, like this specific seat I paid for. Or my time or energy even. I do not have to give that up for a stranger's kids. "Putting up with" the fact that kids exist is not the same as being expected to bend over backwards to parent a stranger's child.
People like you are why "/c/childfree bullshit" exists. You think that "it takes a village" means that if someone mixes their DNA with someone else's, suddenly that is the "Village's" problem and not the parents.
