Oh, it's definitely something that's getting more coverage because it's the narrative most of us expect from this administration, so memes and stories about it get more clicks and engagement. It sells.

As far as a source, I noticed the uptick in the number of memes about food recalls and was just curious if we actually were having more recalls than normal, so I did a search for the topic and read what I found. I would recommend doing the same for anyone else curious about the topic. We all would do well to remember that memes are not a valid source for news and information - not if you want the full picture.

Now, I wouldn't say that there's nothing to be worried about, but the number of recalls alone isn't the problem we should be focusing on. For starters, there's the issue I already mentioned that we aren't doing as much testing as we have in the past because RFK did indeed gut the FDA. The other issue I noticed in my reading is that while we may have less recalls than average at the moment, the stuff that is getting through seems to be more dangerous (e.g., the cyclospora outbreak), and the FDA is taking longer to respond to those outbreaks.
