Programmer joke flying overhead.
that’s not correct. anything that isn’t 0 is true. only 0 is false. what has the world come to
Casually spreading misinformation (for job security reasons)
ok, fair, that was inaccurate. i was primarily targeting the silly statement of "numbers being true" used as a manipulation to support the argument.
Viceversa’s point was that these numbers also have very great statistical meaning (and added zimself the significant caveat that the meaning in question is unrelated to the subject we’re discussing) and had seemingly nothing to do with Boolean logic. Viceversa’s point was that the numbers here aren’t being adjusted even though they show something different from the initial meme.
and that is the point - they don't. if you live in a poor country, you and your neighbour both make peanuts, so your labour is cheap, you may be able to buy some of your neighbour's service and vice versa (pun not intended), but you collectively can't buy shit from abroad. ppp can be tool to evaluate the domestic market, but it is useless to compare countries internationally to determine which one of them is superpower (if we reduce that question just to economics).
it indeed had nothing to do with boolean logic, that was just my jab at "true numbers".
exactly, you have repeated what i said but with a first sentence that is the opposite of what you mean. you’re just saying what Viceversa said at three times the length at which ze expressed it: the numbers show that russia has a stronger domestic market to harness for war (and thus cannot be ignored as adjusted), which does not translate into the happiness of its domestic citizens.
the original question was whether russia is superpower. russia is big country full of poor people, which is not the usual definition. unfortunately they also have the nuclear bomb, which is the only reason they can't be just laughed out of the room.
The question was whether you were unfairly jabbing Viceversa, but even for this question, that is completely unrelated to whether or not it is a superpower. Russia lost its superpower gleam in the past five years not because they suddenly became superpoorer. The Soviet Union was a big country full of poor people. The Soviet Union was a superpower. Russia lost its superpower gleam because they picked a fight with a small country full of 3x poorer people and failed to steamroll them, to everyone's surprise.
That's not the only reason though: Ukraine isn't laughing, despite not being nuclear bombed.
I don't know, for how long we as Russians and Ukrainians can endure this shit, but it's there for years now, despite several countries helping Ukraine.
the nuclear bomb is the only reason why the russians were not deleted from the ukrainian map by the world.
You have a very high opinion of the world.
Yeah, a binary number that's all 0s is what it's looking for, which is 0 in every reasonable number format. Any other number has 1s in it, so is evaluated as 1.
