Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.
Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.
This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

It's not ridiculous. It's ridiculous to expect something different from the past 100 years of worldwide history.
We've been voting for lesser evil for 100 years because people don't show up to vote. Mamdani showed that when people show up to the primaries, they get better candidates, and when they then show up to the general, those better candidates can win. Mamdani is something different than the past, and he got there by votes. It's not ridiculous to believe in something you watched happen.
The problem with your argument is that it's unfalsifiable. When the lesser evil wins, you don't see how much worse the greater evil would have been. What if just a few more left-leaning Floridians had voted in 2000 and Al Gore had won? You think climate change would be this bad? You think we would've gone into Iraq and Afghanistan? You think we would've gotten Trump and Project 2025? It's a perfect example of your strategy directly leading to what we have today.
You do realize that they could just drop the pretence of democracy and install a dictator if they do not get their way right? The CIA has been evading congress oversight for years.
I urge to look at the many many times people turned up to vote for socialist (and sometimes even marxist) candidates in many many countries, and ended up betrayed with the same old capitalism anyway. It's just absolutely naive this time it will be different.
What? I just gave you proof of how it's different. Look at NYC.
Look at the menu meant times people made airplanes before the Wright Brothers and ended up betrayed by gravity and aerodynamics. It's absolutely native to think nothing ever changes.
People did different designs on the airplane! You keep doing the same thing and hoping it will work this time.
You can keep saying it doesn't work all you want, but NYC is starting to fly. Clean the doom out of your eyes and join us in the real world.
Call me back when the inevitable disillusion hits
What? That's not how it works. I'm not 14. You want me to call you if I start jerking it to my dad's old Playboys too? How about if I suddenly get awkward around girls again?
The way political maturation works is you start off naively trusting in institutions. Then, around your teen years, you realize that the institutions are untrustworthy, and you become disillusioned. Then, when you grow up, you realize everything is made up anyway, and all that really matters is people and what they do together.
Call me back when you grow up, and the empowerment hits. You're useless to us with this doomer disillusionment nonsense.
Didn't call you immature. Just delusional. Never claimed that you will manage to get over those illusions for certain. But if you ever do, let us know.
You called me delusional because you're immature. Reread what I told you. Disillusionment is immature, you're not done yet.
Lol "If you don't believe the status quo is the best system, you're immature". Terminal case of turbolib-brainrot.
Further proof that you did not read what I wrote. It was very short, I don't know why you're having such difficulty.
You're stuck in the second stage. The second stage is an important development from the first, but it is adolescent. You have to grow up. Realize that every system is made up. Your disillusionment is just another part of the status quo, you are the unwitting controlled opposition helping the system. Stop playing by the rules of the status quo.
What absolute nonsense. Yes, every system is made up, and you're supporting this current rotten one.
I'm not the one doing the expected thing which reinforces the current system my peep.
Where did you get such a ridiculous notion? You should reread what I've said, because I never did such a silly thing. Yes the system is made up, but it still exists, and it still has power. You can use that power on your own terms like a smart person, or throw that power away like a stupid person.
Of course you are. I used to think the same thing when I was a teenager too. Your righteous doomer rebellion is unwitting controlled opposition. The fascists love that you think voting is a waste of time, and they love that you're encouraging others to feel the same way. Stop making the fascists happy.
