society is already structured that way.
but you can't convince people who don't believe it isn't, that it is, because they are retards who lack basic life-skills and refuse to learn them.
what you want is a fool-proof society, and well, since most people are fools, that's never going to work.
no amount of universal anything will help the woman I saw this morning who was 60lbs overweight and ordered 4 pumps of syrup in her extra large latte. she's fucking herself far harder than any 'society' could.
Maybe more individual connections. If life is good, a suggar rush doesn't have to offer the same fulfillment.
if her 200K+ salary isn't a good life? then what is?
maybe it's not about good life, maybe it's just that she doesn't give a fuck about health or fulfillment, and does what feels good to her in the moment and has and will forever live her life that way, and she will tell the doctor to fuck off when he tells her she has to lose weight or face serious illnesses.
some people are just shit people their entire lives, by their own active choices. here on lemmy, though, you're only allowed to be guilty of that if you vote republican or something. i wonder if the lady in the coffee line is democrat or republican, and how she would be a 'suffering from the oppression of the system' in one case, and 'deserving of her misery' in the other?
A life that doesn't need the suggar rush.
That's likely how she lives. The structure of society determines if she grew up longing for suggar or if she longed for a walk. A good society can make up for plenty of resources.
That's the usual team thinking. If we wouldn't leave the media to the elite we should have more nuanced conversations.
'nothing is anyone's fault, we are all victims of society/media elite. nobody can make their own choices'
Does that also apply to you? are you nothing more than a hapless victim? are the 'media elite' forcing you to write these comments on lemmy? or is that the 'structure of society' that forces you to type internet comments?
maybe you're just a bot though.
