Why the backlash? She was honest with the name. Empty Box, Lost Yo Mind. If they bought it, then they lost their minds, and deserve the empty box.

Right, but the description, and by extension Beyonce herself, isn't indicating that this is a joke or some statement against fans mindlessly buying anything they produce. She legit wants her fans to spend $1000 on a box, and frankly the bad press costs more than the $450,000 she expects to get out of it.

If they blatantly say “this is commentary on rampantly consumerism” then the commentary does not work. And either way, there is no bad press. Do people love it? Hate it? Doesn’t matter, they’re talking about it.

And either way, there is no bad press.

The myth that "all advertising is good advertising" is just that. There are reputational impacts from stunts like these.

Just look at how bad Ye has fucked up his career. Sure, he's still rich as hell, but he ain't coming back from that.

Valid, but there’s a difference between selling a pine box to rich fans with nothing better to spend their money on and having multiple bigoted public meltdowns while your music gets noticeably worse.

Okay, point out the sentence.

That's not a sentence. You're just pointing out how to expand the description, which is already expanded on a desktop monitor, and which I have already read.

Point out the sentence where she says this is just a joke or some form of social commentary.

Oh, well, then the backlash might be warranted.
