Anyone notice how the cheaper a coffee is, the more corporate owend it is and the more suffering there is in the supplychain?
I'd much rather buy from co-ops that make sure the farmers get paid well, than to buy corporate products.
The Zapatistas in the Chiapas sell their coffee, which helps support them and fund their schools. I've never tried it since I'm not a coffee drinker, but I imagine it's pretty good.
(It looks like there's ways of getting it in Europe, too).
Will have to try this
Buy local coop coffee. Buy freezedryer and sprayer. Brew local coffee. Spray into freezedryer.
Bam. Ethical instant coffee.
if you go to H&M and buy a t-shirt for $5, they'll obviously rip off them poor asian workers who do all the sewing.
if you buy a tshirt for $10 at H&M, they will still rip off them poor asian workers just the same, just that the company will also pocket $5 while doing so.
There are more places for clothing than h&m
