TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

Sisko punched Q once, and Q was so entertained that he didn't do anything about it. Don't play.
Q doesn't strike me as a gracious loser, even over petty things like this. Perhaps he made the best of a bad situation.
Despite appearances, Q aren't all-powerful in every way. Depending on your take, The Sisko is either part Prophet, or is at least backed by The Prophets. Their relationship to time might be an issue for Q.
I love the idea of Q effectively teasing an ant, knowing it won't even bother trying to hurt him, because it knows it can't. Only to find himself on his arse with a black eye, thinking WTF just happened... HOW!!!
I think it was more that he was just that surprised
Be that as it may, I prefer to go by what a series shows us that a character can do rather than just assume some non-existent subtext. Other's have mentioned that Sisko is half Prophet. At that point in the show we didn't know that and at least on TV it was never demonstrated that being part Prophet gave Sisko anything other than some precognition (excluding his god-fight with Dukat). Saying that Sisko would have beaten Shran (A person who's culture was highly militant and had ritual fights to the death), because he got away with punching Q once is just...bad theory.
I'm not saying Shran would wipe the floor with Sisko. I just think that speed wins out over strength. Sisko's body is built for brawling. Granted he's also a tactician, but so is Shran.
If nothing else it would be a good fight, but I've gone way to deep on this for a meme.
I mean, I'm not weighing in on who would win between sisko and shran, just my read on sisko's "fight" with Q
