Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

And us media will cover the outcomes like they did the last time. As little as possible, and only after some seemingly unrelated thing demands it. Like soldiers trying to commit suicide because of deteriated conditions and stress. Because the base they were supposed to be resupplied from was evaporated unreported a week before. US media is a joke.
Worse than a joke they are actively colluding... Remember the 24 \ 7 cable news coverage of desert storm with embedded reporters in the country that was being bombed? News is big business... Things like this generate big money. They don't want the money or the honesty ... They are capitulating.
They are wholly owned now by people who already have money. Or who stand to make money while keeping people ignorant. But absolutely. Compare the coverage from 20 years ago to today. It's clear, the failure that is. And the coverage 20 years ago wasn't good. But at least they were out there embedded and Reporting something. Now they're all just sitting back home waiting to be told. Because the boss won't spend money to go out there and Report.

Only just. As a child of the seventies and eighties. He retired a bit before I became a teenager. The worst you'd generally have to worry about with him might be issues of framing and omission. And generally never intentionally or with malice. That's almost unimaginable today. Where its S. O. P.

First, that is completely off-topic. Second, America is also the enemy of freedom. Ask any Iranian, or Palestinian, or Latin American, or... you get the point.
There’s not that much freedom in America for many Americans. Same in the UK who are throwing the terrorism label around a little too freely and have restricted the right to protest a lot.
I have friends from Iran living in the USA and they were really excited for their family back home to finally be free. Now, they are a bit disappointed that it's not happening
Turns out freedom bombing doesn't actually bring freedom, who woulda thunk?
PS: This is not to say the Iranian regime is good, only that American puppet regimes don't bring freedom. Iranian freedom will have to come from Iranians themselves; foreign interference only serves to strengthen the regime, as it already has.
USA relied on France to gain independence from Britain. Hell the former Iranian president was working with USA to free his own country from tyranny

Perhaps everyone should have seen that the liberty and justice for all was not true from the start. Yes, better than others at times, but still so much violence, betrayal, lies, brutality, etc. which was hypocritical to the supposed values, others they failed to do: turn the other cheek, help the needy and outcasts, first will be last, love thy neighbors...

Ahmadinejad was picked by the US to be the next head of government. Until they bombed him to shit. There is no evidence beyond that for collaboration. Hell, Ahmadinejad was one of the most oppressive PMs Iran had, not that PMs have much influence on day to day politics anyway.
The USA got it's freedom from Britain hundreds of years ago. The world has changed a lot since then. It's also one thing to get help from a country when requested or they a offer and it's accepted, vs blowing up a country and claiming it's providing them freedom. It's not an apples to apples comparison.

Sadly, so is the US. Real change comes from within. If the people can't make it themselves. If they're relying on someone else to give it to him. They'll never get it. This goes for Americans as much as Iranians.
All anyone needs to do is look at how many different times over how many different decades we rug pulled the kurds. In Bosnia and elsewhere. Our government serves its interests only and then it gets out. It doesn't really care about freedom.
And I think a lot of the push back you're getting, is that specifically in this case. Its the United States and it's meddling is the cause of a lot of their problems. They revolutioned themselves into this as a result. Only another revolutionary change on their part will change it. Hopefully a more informed, less reactionary one.

The USA and Iran are on completely different levels.
Domestically, Iran is worse, but internationally, the US has been the biggest detriment to human freedom since the end of world war 2.

I agree. While Iran has fomented unrest elsewhere. They've never been as boots on the ground and directly engaged with it as the United States has.
