Look who coined the terms. Like the Silicon Valley stoners/hippies who came up with bit, byte, and nibble.
I prefer the spelling "nybble"
It certainly fits. I’ve only heard the term, never heard it used in practice.
What's a nibble in this context?
Usually half a byte, 4b, but I think the general definition is half of the word size
