Not only potentially, it is going to become the new normal. At least for a while, as who knows how it will be, when AMOC really gets going.

Europe's climate isn't dominated by 1 or 2 core effects. It's a balance of multiple competing ones. Climate change is affecting a lot of those, at the same time. It's hard to predict which way things will tip. E.g. if the golf stream fails, then we could get FAR colder winters.

Some of the new potential balances are more unpleasant/annoying, others are more deadly.

Unfortunately, we will see how it plays out over the next few decades. Short enough that us and our children will take the brunt of it. But long enough that a lot of leaders won't care yet, they won't live to see it.
