I heard that in England people pay money for the BBC
In Canada people pay money for the CBC. That's what a public broadcaster is.
I was making a joke but I didn't know Canada had a similar network. In the US we had PBS which was a non-commercial free to air channel funded partially by public funds.
PBS is still going.
Barely, it's under constant attack.
