Yeah... I built my wife a machine with 64 GB of RAM in ~October of 25 right before the prices spiked. Really kicking myself for not going all in and building a NAS setup at that same time. I can't realistically bring myself to purchase 4tb hard drives or ram at this point - it's too damn expensive.

I built a nas and bought my wife a 64gb laptop eoy 2025. considereing myself lucky.
must have picked up like 6 4tb nvme drives and bunch of rust drives

I got 32tb like a month before shit started blowing up. I didn't really need it at the time but the price was good so I jumped on it. So glad I did.

Yeah...recently wanted to replace my aging 8TB drives in the server. Thought I'd probably get twice as much for the same price or the same way cheaper. Boy was I wrong and sad
