People turn to escapism because they are struggling to make connections in the outside world, not the other way around.

What if I don't turn to escapism, but also don't make connections... because both are really weird and boring?

And I just kinda chill out with my dog and cook a lot and learn shit. folks ask me what I'm up to lately and i'm like 'oh I'm taking professional cooking classes and getting yelled at by chefs and making awesome food!' and they slowly back away.

sometimes i wonder if being a weeb would be more socially acceptable.
